Planning a pool in Royal Palm Beach
Royal Palm Beach has a little of everything: established neighborhoods with larger lots and mature trees, golf and lake communities, and newer gated neighborhoods with tighter backyards. Many homes back onto a lake or canal. That variety means there is no one-size pool. A bigger lot might hold a freeform pool with a raised spa, a sun shelf and a covered lounge area. A tighter yard might call for a clean rectangle with a spa at one end and smart use of the deck.
During your free on-site visit we look at setbacks, easements, drainage, utilities and the route an excavator will take to the backyard. On lake lots we also look at the bank and where storm water goes, and we orient the spa and seating to face the view.
Renovating an older pool
Plenty of Royal Palm Beach pools were built with the original homes. If yours has a worn finish, dated tile or older equipment, a renovation can modernize it: resurfacing, new waterline tile and coping, a saltwater conversion, LED lighting, new equipment or a new deck.

Neighborhoods We Serve in Royal Palm Beach
We work with homeowners throughout the Village. In the established central neighborhoods, such as La Mancha, The Willows and Counterpoint Estates, lots tend to be larger and home styles vary from street to street, which gives a custom pool room to stand out. Along the Crestwood Boulevard corridor on the west side, Madison Green sits beside a public golf course with lakes throughout the community, and Saratoga at Royal Palm is organized around lakes and internal streets. Newer gated communities such as Bella Terra, BellaSera and PortoSol were built in the 2000s and 2010s.
Gated communities and many HOA neighborhoods have an architectural review step for pools, decks and screen enclosures, and many set rules for contractor access and work hours. We prepare the site plan and drawings your HOA asks for, and we plan the schedule around their approval.
Pool Permits in the Village of Royal Palm Beach
Pool permits in the Village are handled by the Village of Royal Palm Beach Building Department, part of Community Development, at Village Hall, 1050 Royal Palm Beach Blvd. Applications are filed through the Village’s e-permitting portal. We prepare the engineering and the full permit package, file it, answer any review comments and schedule inspections through final.
The Village’s pool checklist includes a few items worth knowing about:
A property survey less than two years old
Signed and sealed plans that note the Florida Building Code design wind speed for the Village (170 mph)
Landscape requirements if the project adds more than 250 square feet of new impervious area, such as deck
A form board survey if the pool is within three feet of a property line
The primary pool barrier, permitted separately from the pool
We take care of each one. After the permit is issued, a typical new build takes under 3 months from dig to swim.
Recent Royal Palm Beach Project: Bella Terra
In Bella Terra, a gated community in Royal Palm Beach, we built a new freeform gunite pool with a raised spa finished in dark blue tile. Light coping and a curved blue tile accent line give the pool a defined edge against a light paver deck, and the pool sits just off a screened patio for easy indoor-outdoor living.

Outdoor Living Around the Pool
Royal Palm Beach backyards are made for entertaining. We plan the pool together with the space around it: a pergola for shade, an outdoor kitchen with a clear path to the deck, artificial turf where grass struggles, and lighting for evening swims. If you want to phase the work, we can build the pool first and leave the utilities and deck space ready for the next step.
